Professional Bridesmaid: Brides Hire Her to be a Friend

Most of the girls dream about being a bride when they grow up and marry their prince charming. But no one has an aim of becoming a bridesmaid once they grow up. In our childhood, when people ask us what we want to be when we grow up, we usually answer it with a doctor, teacher, dancer, etc. Usually, people have these incredible choices for their careers.

But over the years, when these little girls start to grow up, they get introduced to various other career options and opt for a lucrative career choice. No one has ever thought about becoming a professional bridesmaid during their childhood and making a living out of it.

Out of all the different career choices, one woman has claimed that she is the first professional bridesmaid. According to her version, she used to wear stunning dresses at weddings and get paid for it.  

The woman named Jen Glantz has always spoken on TikTok about what it feels like to be a bridesmaid for an unknown person. She also talks about playing a crucial role in the bride’s special day. But in reality, she did not consciously choose this profession but accidentally stumbled upon it.

In a shared clip, she described that in her early twenties, how she often played the role of a bridesmaid for her friends who got married early. Eventually, this turned into a habit for her. People she was acquainted with her started to ask her to become their bridesmaid. During this time, her roommate jokingly told her she had turned into a professional bridesmaid.

Due to this joke made by her roommate, Jen thought about giving it a serious try and started to provide her professional service online. Although she did not expect it, she got bombarded by hundreds of email responses from people online.

In the following videos, Jen spoke about how she used to pretend to know the bride. And also often asked as her friend. Sometimes even the groom has no idea that she is a professional bridesmaid, and the bride does not know her in person.

But although people might have a question about this career option, Jen takes her role very seriously. She makes sure not to drink, used to have fun during the wedding and chooses to stay sober and get her job done.

Many people often feel envious and think how easy and fascinating her job sounds. But in reality, when asked Jen, she talks about how her work only seems glamorous. She speaks about how much blood, sweat and tear goes behind each time she gets hired as a bridesmaid.

Like every professional, this job also comes with its drawbacks. People only think about how amazing being a bridesmaid sound. But as a bridesmaid, she needs to get a lot of things done, like taking care of various articles for the bride. And also ensure that the wedding ceremony takes place smoothly without any hassle.
